CAMDEN, CITY, ISLINGTON AND WESTMINSTER BEREAVEMENT SERVICE Neil Arnold 1958-2013 The Camden, City, Islington and Westminster Bereavement Service regret to announce that their director for 20 years, Neil Arnold, died on Wednesday August 7th 2013. He was 55. Neil Arnold joined the Bereavement Service as counselling coordinator in 1992. During the next 20 years he became director and transformed the Service, using his enthusiasm and dedication to build it into the much-needed Charity it is today. He insisted on high standards and trained the counsellors to work sensitively with a wide cross section of the community. There were setbacks along the way, but Neil faced up to them with a characteristic determination, steadfastly maintaining the Service for all those it was set up to help. He was totally committed to his work and despite the pressure on budgets he saw the Service not only survive, but grow to serve the ever-increasing numbers of those seeking its help. Neils personal expertise in fundraising helped greatly. Neil was tremendously caring of the counsellors, and had a rare gift for spotting potential and bringing out particular talents. There must be many counsellors working in the community today who have reaped the benefit of Neils instinctive skill in training and support. Neils death is a great loss and he will be sadly missed by his friends and colleagues. The Service and its future are Neils legacy. CCIWBS Trustees.Your tribute has been received.
