It’s hard to believe that the last month of the year is upon us!
December is a month we enjoy so much at forum+ as we join together to enjoy the Christmas festivities.
It is also of course a time to look back and reflect upon all that we have achieved in another busy and eventful year for forum+ and the LGBTQ+ community in Camden and Islington.
Throughout 2022 there have been so many special moments that we’ve shared together. A very special highlight was marking our milestone 20th birthday. Throughout 2022 we enjoyed celebrating the contributions of everyone who has been part of our journey and our story over the last two decades.
Camden & Islington LGBT History Month 2022 was a fantastic festival of local LGBTQ+ culture, heritage and history and we’re so excited to now be planning for LGBT History Month 2023! The celebrations take place during the month of February and we invite all the community to join in the festivities taking place online and across Camden and Islington.
forum+ is aware of the challenges being faced by many people due to the cost-of-living crisis and anxieties around rising energy costs.
Our proamme of social activities and events are free to access and in the year ahead we are committed to continuing to offer the local LGBTQ+ community the opportunity to engage in events that improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and celebrate our culture.
While there have been so many wonderful moments of celebration over the last year, hate crime sadly remains an issue in society and our support services for victims of homophobic, biphobic or transphobic harassment or hate crime continue to be very much needed.
It is our mission is to challenge the prejudice that causes hate crime, discrimination and stigma. We are proud to work with Camden Council, Islington Council and to collaborate with everyone in the community to build a safer, more supportive and cohesive society.
Before we say goodbye to 2022 there are lots of fun and festive activities to enjoy in the weeks ahead. For and all our upcoming events please follow forum+ social media and website: twitter.com/forumplus, facebook.com/forumplus, instagram.com/forumplus and forumplus.org.uk
