Where to celebrate The King's Coronation in North London

The King’s Procession will go down The Mall from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, and return after the Coronation with a procession from the Abbey back to Buckingham Palace. There will be public screenings of the procession and service at sites in Hyde Park, Green Park and St James’s Park and also a screening of the Coronation Concert on May 7 in St James's Park beamed live from Windsor Castle and featuring the likes of Take That, Katy Perry and Lionel Ritchie.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend there are plenty of events taking place across North London to mark the historic occasion.

If you want to get in the mood early, the Brunswick Centre in Bloomsbury is hosting free entertainment from 4-8pm including "Henry VIII", Town Crier, jesters, Beefeaters, jugglers, royal princesses, stilt walkers, magicians and balloon modellers, Pearly King and Queen at 5pm and a performance by platinum selling queens of close harmony The Puppini Sisters reworking pop songs from 6-8pm.

In Wembley Park there is a street party on May 6 with live music, entertainers from Busk London, a family zone with magicians, stilt walkers and life-sized board games and a Royal photo booth with a chance to take a selfie with 'King Charles'. A pop up food market and deck chairs with a giant screen in front of the National stadium complete the celebrations.

Alexandra Palace's popular Terrace beer garden reopens escpecially for the Bank Holiday weekend offering the chance to spot the Red Arrows' Coronation fly past alongside panoramic views over London. The Terrace opens at midday until 10pm on Saturday 6, then from midday until 9pm on Sunday 7. Located outside the Muswell Hill landmark's Phoenix Bar & Kitchen it's one of the biggest beer gardens in London and will host street food, cocktails and craft beers. Expect live music and DJ sets across the weekend.

There's a chance to watch the Coronation service live on big screens at Camden Outernet in St Giles Square, Demark Street in Central London. The free event sees the service on floor to ceiling wrap around giant screens and view the ‘The Royally Big Portrait’ a giant portrait of His Majesty The King made up from thousands of individual pictures produced by the general public.

A Big Lunch Coronation Garden Picnic takes place from 10.30am on May 6 in Turner's Wood, Hampstead Garden Suburb. Hosted by Tamala & Shabnam, it's a fundraiser for Comfort Cases UK, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children in foster care. Participants are encouraged to bring their own picnic and blanket, meet new people and enjoy Tamala & Shabnam's signature Coronation cake. "We're super proud to be part of something that brings the local community together. We're crossing our fingers for good weather and hope to see lots of people there!". RSVP to confirm attendance.

The Coronation Big Lunch on The Broadwalk, in Regent's Park on May 7 runs from 12-3pm. Bring your own food and drink and join the Friends of Regent's Park and Primrose Hill to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event and enjoy a sense of community. There will be music, face painting, prizes and more. The event is at full capacity but you can add your name to the waiting list.

The South Harrow Traders Association is running a Kings Coronation event on May 6 outside Roxeth Library on Northholt Road from Noon until 4pm. Planned events include a DJ, Bollywood dancing and workshop by Jay Kumar, a steel band player, Dhol players, classical Sri Lankan dancing, henna tattoos and prizes for the best King's Crown.Expect, balloons, bunting and a big TV screen to watch a live stream of the ceremony and procession.

Arundel Square in Barnsbury is holding a free Doggy Coronation Garden Party on May 7, with the canine-friendly event kicking off at 1pm.

Golders Hill Park holds a King's Coronation Picnic on Monday 8 with music and entertainment on the bandstand including The London Youth Concert Band and Green Chain Jazz, Coronation themed arts and crafts, food and drink, funfair rides, and circus workshops courtesy of The City of London Corporation and Barnet Council. The event starts in the park in North End Way at 1pm and ends with a special light show at 8.30pm. Reserve your spot here.

Kentish Town Community Centre holds a King Charles III Coronation Party on Monday May 7 at Busby Place, NW5 including live music, cheap and tasty food, licensed bar, face painting, kid’s crafts, and a photo booth.

Rosslyn Hill Chapel in Hampstead hosts a Coronation Coffee Morning on Monday May 8 from 10-12pm. The partnership between Rosslyn Hill Unitarian Chapel, Mitzvah Day, and the Queen’s Crescent Community Association is part of the Big Help Out initiative over Coronation weekend with people invited to bring donations for QCCA's food bank, make new friends and learn about volunteering opportunities.

Also for the Big Help Out on May there will be family friendly activities at Hawley Warf in Camden Lock and Granary Square King's Cross, with live music, face painting, storytelling and crown making. Bring a picnic 11am-4pm when Camden Council will also be honouring some of the people who make a difference in our communities through a special barge trip on the Regent’s Canal.
