A man has appeared in court after a samurai sword was discovered in his flat.
John Charles Bishop appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on April 27 charged with illegal private possession of a weapon.
The samurai sword was found in his flat in Lismore Circus, near Gospel Oak overground station, on November 28 last year.
The 42-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge.
Bishop was fined £350, as being ordered to pay £150 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court also ordered that the samurai sword be taken away from him.
