An authentic New-York style bagel shop is set to start welcoming customers in Primrose Hill.
Eyes were already on It’s Bagels since it began operating within Caravan Coffee Roasters Brewbar in July last year.
But the company has announced it will be opening its first permanent shop in Primrose Hill.
The shop will take over the former Primrose Hill Butchers in Regents Park Road and is set to open in September.
In the announcement shared online, the post says: “Thanks for bearing with us on this pause, whilst we get ready to offer the NYC bagels and schmears you’ve come to expect, along with smoked fish, salads, coffees and more.
“To eat in or takeaway, from 65 Regents Park Road (the old butchers).”
As well as operating in Caravan Coffee Roasters Brewbar, Londoners have been ordering home delivery bagels every Sunday.
The bagels are inspired by classic New York City places, as owner Dan Martensen moved from New York to London in 2019.
It's Bagels is a collaboration between Mr Martensen and head baker for Caravan restaurants Jack Pointing.
Mr Martensen said: “Like most New Yorkers, for most of my life, great bagels have been part of my day to day.
"So, whilst I have huge respect for London’s East-End style bagels, I was disappointed not to be able to find a decent New York bagel anywhere when I moved to the UK a few years ago.
"Fast forward and we’re over the moon that Londoners seem to love our remedy to that. We’re further astounded by our good fortune in securing the most perfect site to dispense our bagels in Primrose Hill.
"We can’t wait to open."
Once open, It’s Bagel will offer both indoor and outdoor seating.
