A housing association's former offices next to a live music landmark are set to be transformed to student accommodation.
Developer Regal London is putting forward revised plans to deliver 267 new student flats at the former One Housing HQ site in Chalk Farm Road, adjacent to the Roundhouse.
The development is also proposed to provide 24 affordable homes for Camden residents, including family homes.
It would also create 328sq m of new publicly accessible open space, new gardens for residents and 420sq m of new commercial ground floor space.
The developer says it has refined proposals and incorporated feedback from the community after an initial consultation.
Construction is set to start next year subject to a successful planning process.
Regal London says it will be working with the music venue to improve crowd management at busy times along the road.
Public engagement events are scheduled to hear the public’s thoughts, which are set to take place on September 13 from 3pm to 7pm and September 16 from 10am to 2pm at the Salvation Army on Haverstock Hill.
A development management forum will also be held at Haverstock School on September 7 from 8pm.
Steve Harrington, planning director at Regal London said: “Regal London's primary goal is to ensure that the redevelopment of 100 and 100A Chalk Farm Road delivers thoughtfully designed student homes and affordable homes, complements Chalk Farm Road’s unique character, and serves the needs of both residents and the community.
“Regal London is excited to present our updated plans emphasising our commitment to invest long-term in Camden. These proposals will deliver a lasting social impact with new employment opportunities locally and an improved public realm along Chalk Farm Road.”
