Plans to turn a former gospel church into flats and a carpet shop into a maths tuition centre are among those submitted over the past week.

The applications were all in the Ham & High readership area and received by Camden Council between September 4 and September 10.

The council is currently reviewing each application and has yet to make a decision on any of them.

In Belsize Park, there are plans to demolish an existing rear conservatory at a property in Primrose Gardens and build a single-storey lower ground floor rear extension, as well as a ground floor roof terrace (2023/2914/P).

Meanwhile, in England's Lane there are plans to turn the Brocklehurst flooring shop into a maths tuition centre (2023/3135/P).

The centre would be run by Mathnasium and offer tuition sessions for children lasting 60 to 90 minutes. 

In Chalk Farm, plans have been submitted to build a temporary portable cabin adjacent to Juniper Crescent housing estate ( 2023/2877/P). 

It comes after residents voted in favour of the estate being demolished and re-built earlier this year. 

Planning documents state that the portable cabin will help to facilitate in-person meetings with residents in the run up to the submission of a planning application for the re-development, expected in March 2024. 

In Camden Lock Place, a proposal to change the use of a former restaurant to an entertainment space with restaurant, bar, and events space has been submitted (2023/3560/P).

African restaurant Shaka Zulu previously occupied the site now run as a crazy golf venue by Junkyard Golf Club.

Multiple applications have recently been proposed by the same applicant in Greenaway Gardens (applications 2023/3072/P, 3074/P, 3078/P, and 3081/P).

These include building a pool, gym and games hall in the back garden of the property. 

In Kentish Town there are plans to demolish three existing vacant properties and build a five-storey mixed residential and commercial development in Fortess Road (2023/3330/P).

In 2021, Camden Council approved plans to build a four storey block on the site with retail units at the ground floor and three homes of three bedrooms above. 

The latest application seeks permission to add an extra floor to the development for another two-bedroom home. 

In Belsize Road in Kilburn there are plans to turn a former gospel church, which shut in 2016, into five two-bedroom duplexes (2023/2972/P).

Lastly, in West Hampstead, plans have been submitted to reconfigure the ground floor of an existing block of 13 flats.

This would see five flats in the building reduced to three - two studio flats and one two-bedroom flat.
