You might be forgiven for thinking that you’ve gone back in time when vintage buses return to historic north London routes for a day.

Buses dating from the 1950s to the 80s are set to return to the streets of the capital this weekend (March 10) as part of a vintage bus event.

Services include the 13 route from North Finchley to Golders Green and Swiss Cottage, the 43 from Muswell Hill Broadway to Archway and Islington, and the 102 from Muswell Hill to Golders Green and Pennine Drive.

There will also be a 139 service from Waterloo to Golders Green, the 210 between Muswell Hill and Golders Green, the 240 between Golders Green and Mill Hill and the 603 from Muswell Hill and Swiss Cottage.

The buses have a set timetable throughout the day to serve bus enthusiasts and those who want to relive transport history.

While they retain the vintage look of London’s buses, they will not be running as part of the Transport for London network and will instead be operated by retired Metroline conductor Trevor Muir.

Last November, many people shared pictures online when they spotted the old buses around north London commemorating the 30th anniversary of Chalk Farm Grange.
