A person has died after being hit by a train.
Emergency services were rushed to Iverson Road in West Hampstead after reports of a casualty on the track at West Hampstead station at 12.26pm.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said officers and paramedics attended but a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
They added: "The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The road was full of emergency vehicles throughout the afternoon.
Passengers at West Hampstead station were evacuated, with staff turning people away to alternative routes.
It had a knock-on effect to the Thameslink, with the National Rail shutting lines between London St Pancras and Luton.
Initially, it was estimated this would cause major disruptions the whole day, and while lines have now reopened trains will still be subject to cancellations or delays of up to 60 minutes.
National Rail estimates that major disruption should now last until 7pm.
