A Hampstead cook shop and school could soon be allowed to serve alcohol.

Borough Kitchen in Hampstead High Street has applied to Camden Council for a premises licence.

The shop, which offers three hour cook classes for £125 per person, wants to be able to serve alcohol to customers between 6.30pm and 10.30pm, Monday through to Saturday.

In its licencing application to the council, the shop says alcohol will be served for customers to drink alongside the meal they have just prepared.

They add that obtaining a premises licence will “enhance the customer experience”, and that the nature of the alcohol on sale “will not appeal to individuals looking to buy cheap alcohol in large quantities”.

Classes currently on offer at the shop include Chinese dumplings and bao cooking, and authentic Mexican cooking.
