Camden has been hailed as a place “full of innovation and creativity” in a Disney documentary about the area.
Directed by Asif Kapadia - who was behind the 2015 Amy Winehouse documentary Amy - the four-part series Camden will be available to watch on the Disney+ streaming service later this month.
It will tell the stories of some of today’s biggest artists, including Questlove, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Dua Lipa, and how the town's live scene figured in their success.
With the tagline ‘where music icons are made’, it looks back to 1980s and 90s stars like Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B, who claims that he “paved” the way for the area to become the hub it now is.
Other big names featured include Noel Gallagher, the Black Eyed Peas, Madness singer Suggs - who grew up nearby - and Little Simz.
Ahead of its release, two episodes were privately screened to an audience at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town.
Presenter Edith Bowman hosted an onstage Q&A with Jazzie B, Sister Bliss from Faithless, and executive producers Suzanne Lavery and Nick Shymansky.
Speaking to the audience before the screening, Jazzie B said: “It was an amazing experience to be a part of Camden.
“The wonderful thing about Camden is it’s full of innovation and creativity.”
Talking about why he felt it was important he was a voice in the documentary, Jazzie B joked he was the “gatekeeper of Camden” – adding “you got to come through me if you want to be a part of it”.
Sister Bliss, who lived in the area, said that it has a “sense of energy and possibility” – noting it was her "first" for many things – including her first clubbing spot and where she signed her record deal.
Mr Shymansky even highlighted the importance of hosting the screening at the O2 Forum, pointing out the many global artists who performed at this venue over the years.
“Amy [Winehouse] and I came here and saw Kanye's first show together,” he said.
Each episode will reveal the untold stories of how the lives and careers of these artists were influenced by the town's pubs, clubs, and venues.
Camden can be streamed on Disney+ from May 29.
