The first trailer of a Disney documentary all about the thriving music scene at Camden has been released.
Some of today’s biggest artists, including Questlove and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will star in Camden, which will be available to watch on the Disney+ streaming service later this month.
Directed by Asif Kapadia - who was behind the 2015 Amy Winehouse documentary Amy – the four-part series will tell the story of how the town’s live scene figured in the success of many top stars.
The series is produced by and features Dia Lipa, who grew up in West Hampstead and attended Fitzjohn's Primary School.
The newly released trailer starts with Martin saying: “Camden, so full of life and music.”
Questlove, from The Roots, added “it’s a place where stars are born” as he reflects that his five-year period away from the US and living in Camden was where his career began to flourish.
With the tagline ‘where music icons are made’, it looks back to 1980s and 90s stars like Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B, who claims that he “paved” the way for the area to become the hub it now is.
Other big names featured include Noel Gallagher, the Black Eyed Peas, Madness singer Suggs - who grew up nearby - and Little Simz.
Each episode will reveal the untold stories of how the lives and careers of these artists were influenced by the town's pubs, clubs, and venues.
Camden can be streamed on Disney+ from May 29.
