A new hand-painted mural could be put up to promote a neighbourhood’s South Asian eateries.

The proposal is among almost 150 planning applications submitted to Camden Council between May 13 to May 19.

The council is currently reviewing each application and has yet to make a decision on any of them.

We have summed up the most significant applications in the Ham & High readership area below:

  • A new two-acre garden could be created in Regents Park to commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II. (2024/1461/P).
  • In Belsize Avenue, plans have been submitted to convert two flats into a single family house. (2024/0896/P).
  • Three studio flats at Glenmore Road, Belsize Park, could also be converted into a single home (2024/1233/P).
  • Plans were put forward to remove an ATM at the Royal Bank of Scotland branch in Finchley Road, and replace it with a window (2024/1680/P).
  • Two self-contained flats at Skardu Road, Fortune Green, could replace a house – with plans to install a bin and cycle store to the front and erect a single storey extension, following the demolition of the existing rear addition. (2024/1268/P).
  • Two garage blocks of 12 car park spaces could be demolished at Parsifal House, Finchley Road, to make way for a three-storey building with a basement to provide two three-bedroom flats. Five garages will be available to the rear of the rear building. 2024/1722/P.
  • It is proposed to install 10 new condenser units on the third floor balcony of the Royal Free Hospital. (2024/1883/P).
  • Camden Council received plans to turn a fancy dress shop in Ferdinand Street into a restaurant serving kebabs and shawarmas. (2024/0895/P).
  • An application outlines plans for a hand-painted mural on a gable wall at Green Light Pharmacy, in Hampstead Road, Euston. It is a joint initiative between the street art agency Global Street Art and the Business Improvement District (BID), to promote the community’s ‘Drummond Street Season of Spice’ campaign – a six-month programme of events to promote and secure the preservation of Drummond Street, which is known for its South Asian food.
