The candidates for a council by-election called after a councillor resigned to run for Parliament in the General Election have been revealed.
Labour’s Cllr Adam Jogee, who was elected to Haringey Council in 2014, resigned his Hornsey seat at the end of last month after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called a general election.
Mr Jogee has been chosen as the party’s parliamentary candidate for Newcastle-under-Lyme at the poll on July 4.
His resignation triggered a by-election for his council seat, which will be held on the same day as the General Election.
Five candidates have now been confirmed to be running to replace him.
The winner will join Labour councillors Dana Carlin and Elin Weston in representing the area.
Here is the full list of candidates, in alphabetical order:
- Ioannis Blantos – The Conservative Party
- Jo Dowbor – Green Party
- Justin Hinchcliffe – Liberal Democrats
- James Orford – Independent
- Adam Small – Labour Party
