Elite cyclists and folding bike aficionados will race through the capital’s streets with the debut of the London Cycle Festival in Kings Cross.

This event will provide a three-day celebration of cycling from June 21 to 23, featuring races and community events for all ages to enjoy.

Highlights will include elite races, featuring competitors drawn from the world’s fastest semi-pro riders, regional racers, and cyclists from the community.

The action kicks off on June 21 from 6pm to 10pm, with several races, including fixed-wheel racing.

Considered a high-risk sport due to the lack of gears or brakes, it provides a nail-biting race through the historic Kings Cross Estate and Coal Drops Yard.

Saturday, June 22 will see the buzz of the Brompton World Championships return to London after nearly five years from 10.30am to 10pm.

The festival winds down on Sunday, June 23.

Open from 10.30am to 6pm, this last day will be focused on youth races.

Cycling enthusiasts can look forward to more laid-back Explore London guided tours, with rides centred around fashion, art, architecture and design.

The event is promoted by the team behind VIA Atelier, a high-end cycling shop in King’s Cross.

Throughout the event, interactive experiences in the VIA village will keep visitors entertained, including test rides, stunt performances, exhibitions and Barista masterclasses.

Two exhibition zones will provide a glimpse into various aspects of the cycling community, with brands showcasing their products and star athletes performing freestyle tricks.
