Comedian Ricky Gervais has designed a T-shirt to raise awareness of British trophy hunters shooting animals like elephants.
Animal rights activist Gervais' eco-friendly T-shirt design is part of a limited-edition collection to support the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting.
They say that each year, British hunters contribute significantly to the number of endangered lions, elephants, giraffes, and polar bears killed for sport.
Gervais said: "There are few things as immoral in the world as shooting an animal just for fun, and then bragging about it.
"It’s sickening, cowardly and downright deranged."
"Elephants are amazing creatures and they’re also endangered.
"That’s why I’ve designed this T-shirt.
"I hope people buy them and help the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting expose and end this so-called sport for good."
The comedian, who lives in Hampstead, added that British trophy hunters are among the most "prolific in the world" when it comes to the killing of elephants.
He said: "It’s just unbelievable, and it’s got to end right now."
Popular targets among British trophy hunters also include leopards, zebras, and monkeys, the group claims.
Ricky Gervais' T-shirt collection coincides with the General Election and the ninth anniversary of the shooting of Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe.
A key focus of the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting is to urge whoever wins the election to impose a ban on hunting trophies immediately.
Current legislation allows hunters to import animal remains into the UK for taxidermy or decorative trophy displays.
The campaign previously succeeded in getting Conservatives and Labour to include pledges into their 2019 manifestos.
The collection, built with sustainability in mind, is made from organic cotton and produced using renewable energy.
Garments from the collection can be returned to the supplier, Teemill, once they are worn out.
Eduardo Goncalves, the founder of the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting, said: "Ricky is an amazing voice for animals and has spoken out powerfully about the cruelty and insanity of trophy hunting.
"We are so grateful he has chosen to design this t-shirt for us and support our work to expose and end trophy hunting."
The T-shirts are now available for purchase, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going directly to the campaign.
