Plans to redevelop a pub that has sat empty for 20 years and replace it with housing are moving ahead.

The proposals are among those submitted to Camden Council between June 17 and June 24.

The council is currently reviewing each application and has yet to make a decision on any of them.

Plans are moving forward to convert the former Bird in Hand pub, in West End Lane, into a house with a block of flats built behind it (2024/2452/P).

The application seeks to remove a condition related to a mechanical ventilation system so that development can behind.

The pub was first named as a beerhouse in 1831 but has sat empty for 20 years.

Plans were approved last year to turn the bar into a self-contained home.

A five storey block at the back will provide nine self-contained flats, with associated landscaping, refuse, cycle storage, and a gate facing West End Lane.

Developers are seeking a green light (2024/2271/P) to demolish 16 garages and replace them with eight mews houses in Canfield Place, a cul-de-sac in Swiss Cottage.

The proposal consists of three two-storey houses and and five three-storey houses, each with private roof terraces.

Planning permission was given in October 2021 but this new application seeks the removal of certain conditions to do with the installation of solar panels.

Several objections on this earlier application (2017/1910/P) site the design, height and bulk of the development as well as privacy as it will be close to existing homes.

In Kentish Town a severely cracked boundary wall separating homes in Leverton Street from Falkland Place Playground will be demolished and rebuilt (2024/1712/P).

The Little Bear Cafe, at 153 Fortess Road, Tufnell Park is seeking to change its use from a cafe to restaurant (2024/2335/P).
