One of Waitrose's most distinctive supermarkets has closed for six weeks.
The Waitrose John Barnes shop in Finchley Road is undergoing major refurbishment, and will open with a new look once the work is complete.
A sign has been put up outside the shop, telling customers that it would temporarily close from July 7 for six weeks.
Waitrose was asked if it could provide an exact opening date, but a spokesperson said they will be able to provide more information later.
A spokesperson said: "We're giving our John Barnes shop a fresh new look and installing exciting new features. We are confident it will be worth the wait, and in the meantime our partners at nearby branches are ready to welcome customers.
“They'll also fulfil online orders, so any customer using Waitrose.com, Uber Eats or Deliveroo won't notice any changes."
Once it reopens, the shop will have an improved bakery, deli counter and food-to-go options.
The former John Barnes department store reopened as 'Waitrose John Barnes' in 1981.
It’s understood that Waitrose plans to reopen near the end of August.
