Thank you to the people of Hampstead and Highgate for electing me as your Member of Parliament at the general election on July 4.
It is the honour of my life to represent our wonderful constituency, which is where I went to school, where I had my first job as a teenager, and where I had my children.
It means the world to me to be elected to Parliament for the fourth time - I will work every day to fight for your priorities and to represent your views in Parliament.
Thank you to all those who voted for me and those who have supported me in any way - it means a great deal and I couldn’t have done it without you. Whether you did or didn’t vote for me in this election, I will always be available to help you and will do all I can to support my constituents.
This election also ushered in a Labour government after 14 years of chaos and decline under the Conservatives.
I was proud to stand at this election on a platform to change our country for the better and deliver on issues that matter to my constituents, from tackling climate change to building affordable housing - I will do everything I can to achieve that.
There is now a real opportunity to turn the page on Tory failure and deliver the change our country so badly needs, and I look forward to playing my part as your local Labour MP, and as economic secretary to the Treasury and City minister.
To those I've represented since 2015, and to new constituents in Gospel Oak and Highgate, I promise to always fight your corner.
I also want to say thank you to those on the Brent side of Kilburn, Queens Park and Brondesbury Park whom I will no longer be representing as a result of the boundary changes. Brent will always have a special place in my heart, and I will miss being your local MP very much.
Nothing matters more to me than representing my constituents in Hampstead and Highgate. If I can do anything at all to support you, please do get in touch at tulip.siddiq.mp@parliament.uk.
Thank you again to those who placed their trust in me – I won’t let you down.
- Tulip Siddiq is Labour MP for Hampstead and Highgate
