Camden Market stalls and other several other eateries were among the places to score poor food hygiene ratings.

In fact nine places were found to not be up to standard when environmental health officers from Camden Council inspected the venues between mid-June and the end of July.

Burrito Bro

Found at the West Yard Market in Camden, it scored a 1/5 and was told ‘major improvement’ was necessary on June 12.

The stall was ‘generally satisfactory’ with both its hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities – but it was the management of food safety which required ‘major improvement’.

O Sabour

This café on Pratt Street, Camden Town, was given a 1/5 and told ‘major improvement’ was necessary.

According to its Google listing, the eatery is permanently closed.

The management of food safety needed ‘major improvement’, while both the hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities were rated ‘improvement necessary’.

Delicatessen

The kosher restaurant on Rosslyn Hill was given the worst possible score, a 0/5, and told ‘urgent improvement’ was necessary after a visit on June 20.

All areas inspected – the hygienic food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and management of food safety – were rated ‘major improvement necessary’.

Lebanon Express

On June 24, this small Lebanese takeaway at Hawley Wharf was given the worst possible score, a 0/5, and told ‘urgent improvement’ was necessary.

Both the hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities were given a ‘improvement necessary’ rating.

Its management of food safety however needed ‘urgent improvement’.

Guido’s

Offering ‘fast handmade pasta’, the eatery at Camden Lock Place was given a 2/5 and told improvement was necessary on June 24.

Both the hygienic food handling and management of food safety were ‘generally satisfactory’, but the cleanliness and condition of facilities needed improvement.

Phota Vietnamese Food

On June 25, the Willes Road, Kentish Town, eatery was given a 1/5 with ‘major improvement necessary’.

Both the hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities were given a ‘improvement necessary’ rating.

Its management of food safety however needed ‘major improvement’.

FEAST With Us

The St Pancras Way charity which feeds those in need was given a 2/5, with a ‘improvement necessary’ rating on June 26.

Its hygienic food handling was ‘good’, the management of food safety was considered ‘generally satisfactory’, but the cleanliness and condition of facilities was given a ‘improvement necessary’ rating.

Survivor Caribbean Restaurant

The Caribbean restaurant on Arlington Road, Mornington Crescent, was given a 1/5, with ‘major improvement necessary’ on June 27.

Both the hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities were given a ‘improvement necessary’ rating.

Its management of food safety however needed ‘major improvement’.

Degusto Euston

This Italian restaurant on North Gower Street, Euston, was given a 1/5 with ‘major improvement necessary’ on June 27.

Its hygienic food handling and management of food safety needed ‘major improvement’, but the cleanliness and condition of facilities was considered to be ‘generally satisfactory’.


At the time of publication all other places listed in July were given an impressive 5/5.
