At Frognal the University College School (UCS) Class of 2024 celebrated the opening of their long-awaited A-level results, eager to reap the rewards of their hard work and dedication to their studies.
Over 30% of all grades awarded were A*s, 72% were A* to A and 93% were A* to B, representing some of the very best results the Hampstead school has achieved.
Samir, vice captain of monitors, celebrated with friends on the front steps of Frognal.
“I am absolutely delighted," he said.
Samir went on to thank the teachers, adding: "What contributed to our grades was not just our hard work but the accessibility of support they provided outside the classroom, offering their time and counsel.
"Even our form tutors, who may not teach us any subjects, provided endless pastoral support through their wisdom."
Samir is one the school's aspiring medics. He achieved three A*s and one A and eagerly anticipates embarking on his journey at UCL.
The vast majority of university applicants received their first or insurance choices, allowing them to pursue their desired academic paths. Popular fields included creative arts, humanities, social sciences and engineering.
University destinations include Imperial College London, Leeds, Bath, Cambridge and Oxford, taking in STEM courses such as maths, engineering and medicine.
Rebecca Baxter, assistant head (head of sixth form), commented: “It's wonderful to see so many students achieving such fantastic grades, and heading off to some of the best possible institutions.
"After two long years of hard work, we're all incredibly proud of their achievements!”
