Along Old Church Road in Chingford from the 1950s, shop names may have changed over the past 70 years but many are still remembered.
Lilly & Skinner (shoe shop) on the left was started in 1851 by Thomas Lilly in Wellingborough.
In 1974 they operated the largest shoe shop in the world in Oxford Street, London.
Sadly, the brand disappeared from the UK High Street in the late 1990s.
