A person has died after being hit by a train between Euston and Watford, police have confirmed.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just after 12.30pm today (September 26) near Bushey railway station.
There has been major rail disruption since around 12.30pm between Watford Junction and London Euston - which had been linked to a large emergency services presence near Bushey.
Southern Rail had confirmed someone had been hit by a train this afternoon.
A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead.
"The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
All lines between Euston and Watford Junction closed shortly before 12.45pm and many have reopened.
However trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised well into the evening.
Avanti West Coast said on X that it is only able to run a significantly reduced service to and from London Euston until the end of the day.
They added: "Services that we are able to operate are expected to be extremely busy."
