An infant school where children "thrive" and are proud of their work has received the highest Ofsted rating.
Bounds Green Infant School, in Bounds Green Road, was rated ‘outstanding’ across the board after a visit by inspectors from the education watchdog on July 10 and 11.
The school, for children aged three to seven, maintained the top rating from its last full inspection in 2017, with quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years all getting the highest score.
In their latest report, published on September 16, inspectors praised the school's "rigorous and ambitious" curriculum, with the knowledge and skills to be learned "clearly identified and logically sequenced".
The report said: "Pupils thrive in this nurturing and supportive school. They benefit from positive and caring relationships with adults and other pupils."
The curriculum, built around books, was also commended for bringing subjects to life, enhancing vocabulary, and immersing early years children in stories.
The report added: "A love of reading is embedded throughout the curriculum. Pupils read widely and often, enjoying visits to the school library and listening to stories. Pupils speak with confidence and enthusiasm about their favourite books and authors."
Inspectors praised the way Reception children vote for the book they wish to read, and select their preferred theme for the role-play area, while older pupils represent their peers on the school council.
They also noted "carefully planned" educational trips and workshops, which include visits to London landmarks, places of worship and the local bookshop, and pupils' "exceptional" behaviour thanks to "clear and consistently applied" expectations.
The report said: "Pupils are rightly proud of the excellent quality of work they produce in different subjects. They are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their education."
Headteacher Nadine Lewis said: "Thank you to our talented and dedicated staff who work tirelessly to provide great learning experiences for our children.
"We're incredibly proud of our pupils' enthusiasm and care for one another. A special thanks to Haringey Council, our parents, carers, and governors for their continued support and leadership, which has been instrumental in achieving this success."
Cllr Zena Brabazon, Haringey Council's cabinet member for children, schools, and families, said the council was "incredibly proud".
"The hard work from teachers, parents, and most importantly, the students, has truly shone through and been rewarded with this fantastic result," she added.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this success.
“Every child deserves the best start in life, and we remain committed to making that a reality in our borough.
"The future of Haringey is bright, and we know our children will continue to thrive."
Ann Graham, director of children services at Haringey Council, said it was a "fantastic achievement".
She added: “It’s essential that our students have the right environment to flourish, and the school’s focus on delivering a rigorous and creative curriculum has undoubtedly played a key role in this success.
“This result stands as a testament to the school’s ongoing excellence in providing high-quality education and support for all its pupils.”
