Police do not believe the stabbing on Monday of a 20-year-old man in Kentish Town was “gang-related”.
The victim, who is currently in hospital, was knifed in the chest at about 3 in the afternoon.
A police source told the Ham&High: “We are following all leads but at this time, a very early stage in our inquiries, it is not believed to be gang-related.”
The man was attacked in broad daylight on Prince of Wales Road, close to Kentish Town West station.
Witnesses saw an air ambulance land within a police cordon in the area and rush the victim to hospital.
Following surgery on Monday night, the man is believed to be in a “critical but stable” condition.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson confirmed his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Police enquiries are continuing and Scotland Year is appealing for witnesses to come forward. No arrests have been made.
