Spurs fan Alex Lozowski says he is looking forward to returning to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with his Saracens team once again this Saturday as they entertain Harlequins, writes Ziad Chaudry.

With just four rounds left in the regular Gallagher Premiership season, Saracens - who currently lead the standings with 62 points, six clear of Sale Sharks - have already qualified for the four-team end of season play-offs.

And they will be looking to stay there or in the top two which guarantees them home advantage on May 13.

Quins are currently sitting in eighth position with 40 points - eight behind fourth-placed Northampton Saints – and they themselves will be looking to bulldoze their way into the play-off places by the final weekend round of matches on May 6.

In their last fixture on March 5, Hendon-based Saracens went down 35-24 at Sale, however this Saturday Lozowski should line up alongside returning internationals from the 2023 Guinness Six Nations campaign in Owen Farrell, Jamie George, Maro Itoje, Mako Vunipola, Nick Isiekwe, Max Malins, Nick Tompkins and Marco Riccioni.

Last season at N19 in front of 40,000 fans Sarries, coached by Mark McCall, came through a thrilling 27-23 encounter over Bristol Bears.

And Brent-born Lozowski, 29, is expecting a similar turnout at the home of his beloved Tottenham Hotspur.

“It’s great to go back there,” he said. “I enjoyed it last year against Bristol Bears. But this one will be a London derby against Harlequins, so hopefully there will be a really big crowd.”

Lozowski, whose father Rob played for Wasps when they were based in Sudbury, also revealed that a good number of his Sarries team-mates including Itoje and Malins have their allegiance towards Arsenal.

That leaves himself and Billy Vunipola as the only Spurs fans in the squad.

“There’s not enough Tottenham fans, there are too many Arsenal fans!,” Lozowski added.

“We’re a bit outnumbered but I’ve managed to recruit Billy (Vunipola) to be a Spurs fan, so we’ve got him on board.”
