Saracens players Billy Vunipola, Sean Maitland, Jackson Wray and Marlie Packer were star guests at the Sarries Foundation end of season summer party.
The players, fresh from their title winning triumph, helped coach youngsters with learning disabilities at the StoneX Stadium and presented them with awards.
Scottish international Maitland brought his Community Player of the Year award to show the squad which he was awarded at the recent Premiership Rugby Awards.
The 53-cap player has had a long and lasting impact with the club, giving up his free time to assist with regular training sessions in Hendon on Monday evenings.
The community programme is sponsored by Alan Day Motor Group in association with the Sarries Foundation and provides an outlet for young people with high functioning disabilities using rugby as a tool for change.
Maitland expressed his gratitude to Alan Day Group for their dedication and support over the past eight years, dedicating his award to the Foundation and staff at Alan Day, acknowledging their efforts as coaches and the contributions of other programme volunteers.
"I'm so happy to win this award, not just for myself but the whole Saracens Foundation," he said.
"I’m just grateful I’m part of a team who want to make a difference, not only on the field but also outside the community.
"I definitely think we are leading the way off the field. The game has given me so much over the last 16 years. I have been lucky in my career and for me to give back is really nice.
"I’ve been getting involved for a few years and developed so many close relationships with these boys.
"I’m a father myself and have a young family, it puts life into perspective when you see what these parents have to deal with, raising someone with severe autism or Down’s syndrome, it must be so hard.
"For them to have a little break, drop their kids off and for the kids to develop and grow skills they couldn’t get anywhere else, I’m so proud to be a part of it."
Paul Tanner, Managing Director of Alan Day VW, expressed his commitment to the Foundation’s programme, adding: "We're absolutely thrilled to hold these events and I’d like to thank the players for their tremendous support over the past eight years.
"The sessions mean so much to the local community, and they provide a fantastic opportunity for the young participants to stay active and healthy. When the first-team players join in, they bring a whole new level of excitement, and the kids leave inspired and full of life!"
The collaborative effort between Alan Day Group and the Saracens Foundation demonstrates the power of community engagement and the positive impact it can have on young individuals facing learning disabilities.
Through their ongoing support, Alan Day Group continues to play a vital role in creating opportunities and making a difference in the lives of these remarkable youngsters.
